Video: 9/17/18 | Ledges and The RJ Thompson

Some gags, a turtle, and a nurse shark on the RJ. I had never dove the RJ and we were close by so figured I'd get a drop on it. Lots of bait, barracuda and mangos on the wreck. Gags were out in the sand, no Carcharodon sharks. Nothing crazy, just cool stuff for a salty.

Good job. Are you using the DCC Green setting on your Paralenz?

I used the blue, but I'm thinking about trying the green. As you know, sometimes the water looks blue, sometimes it looks green.

I've only used the DCC once so far and used the Blue. The video came out crazy blue. After that I haven't used either. You're getting better light in your videos than I am though so maybe I'll try it again. I've updated the software twice since the last time I tried the DCC.

They had some issue with their firmware. 1.36 and 1.38 were jacked up. The latest is 1.41 and seems to have fixed the exposure issues. They have a facebook support page that I recommend joining.

Nice video. New to diving up here in N Pinellas / S Pasco. I am showing the wreck about 22 mi NW of the channel South of Anclote. What is the depth to the sand, I have seen anywhere from 55 to 75'. Thanks

Thanks. About 65-70 is probably the average. In the video I'm at 55' for the most part and that is on top of the wreck. There are sections under the hull that appear to be blown out from wave and current action that you could probably stick your arm into the sand and hit 75.

Thanks, think we will try to hit it on Saturday. Any tips/guidance for finding ledges, natural structure between the Anclote channel and the wreck? Like depths or headings?

Got out to RJ Barge today, I did not dive but my four friends did. Did pretty good with Gags and Snapper. Great viz, not much current.

Enjoyed it. Tell me about the Bertram build?

I'm getting back to my sea craft build, and although I'm still pissed at the thief who grabbed all my re-core hatch-work who happens to live right behind where my boat is, I'll continue with the build. Sometimes it's better to avoid jailtime for street-justice.

This a-hole called me to get permission to look at the boat in the yard and raped the boat with all the work I did. He listed the same boat model on CL a week later with pics that I could identify of the work I did on parts he stole... I hate f'kn thieves.... The yard was also robbed completely of anything not screwed down, motors, electronics etc. You'll get yours, MFR...
