The key benefits of our spears are their resistance to rusting, superior straightness, consistency of hardness throughout the spear and their ability to spring back straight. However, as we all know, it is still a 17-4 spring-steel spear and does have a bending point like anything else. One of the key areas that makes our shafts more resistant to bending is that the heat treating process is more precise and controlled. If you want a shaft that can take on any fish in the world without bending, then you need to highly consider our UHT spears. We are the only spear manufacture in the United States that sells a proprietary blended metal called UHT (Ultra High Tinsel) and it is the hardest and most bend resistant metal made. The UHT spears are now all over the world destroying some of the largest fish on the planet and the response is insane. The website is in the process of being revamped to showcase the UHT line and should be up by next week. www.addictionspears.com Thanks

I shot a 45# cubera with a 7,5mm uht in a cave , and it barely put a bend in it, I straighten it in the rod holder on the boat and you couldn't tell it had been bent my friend shot a 60# cobia and the cobia was cranking the shaft on the bottom , making it into a U and it did not bend, that was 8mm uht |
