Re: nose clip recommendations

If it's for depth then an aluminum one is probably a lot better than plastic. You need a lot of clamping force. Trygons are good but I'm not sure they're being produced any more? This one is probably good too, though I haven't tried it: http://www.oceanhunter.co.nz/shop/Pr...p+3+Diver.html

Actually Octo looks fine too, since it's aluminum.

Re: nose clip recommendations

I can only really vouch for the trygons, which is expensive but effective. Pays to swap the pads for a material with a bit more friction though, they're ok initially but become too slick with a bit of use.

Re: nose clip recommendations

Ahh it's polyamide sorry, another website indicated it was aluminium. Should still be fine though. I guess something to note is that dives are initially quite repeatable, so it's not the end of the world if you have to abort one. As you get deeper though, each dive becomes more valuable so things like noseclips become more important. If one slips off or leaks half way down on a big dive then it can be difficult or even impossible to re-attempt the same depth and (worst case) you've lost an entire day of training. So I'd generally go for 'chunky and uncomfortable, but very secure' type of design.

Re: nose clip recommendations

This one fits inside the mask. I've been using it for a year now. Mask equalization is not a problem, it allows some air into the mask when needed.

Sorry about the Finnish web page, but I know the shop owner and he will gladly serve international customers directly via: kimmo.paakki@sfstore.fi

Here's even a video where I'm using it.

I don't wear a mask or fluid googles for deep dives
