Re: Current Vis Biscayne Bay / Elliott area and Miami

Any reports on conditions, specifically vis and waves? Heading there next week. Better bet to spear there or to head down to keys?
Thanks!

Better to head down to the keys. With this wind the water clarity in close will be little to none.

Dove on Friday the current was moving south and the water was pee green on the edge from Key Biscayne to Triumph but the waves were flat. Moved into Hawks channel and it cleared up nicely. Fish were not cooperating tho we only shot 5 Hogs with the effort we put in it should have been 10 Hogs and 12 Mangroves.

I had around 12-15 foot vis yesterday by dania off the beach. 10-12 on first reef and around 15 on second. Had top to down on the Jacks, but water was still murky. Before first reef vis sucked. Waters getting rough again.

Next time try a little further south. Was out myself yesterday, south of ceasers. Vis was about 20'-25'. Got 4 hogs, 6 lobster, and had my shaft pull out of a nice size mutton.

Yesterday water was damn cold in a 3mil, seas flat with some lazy 2foot swells viz was all of 5 everywhere down to 60ft, current was ripping when the tide started shifting. Man-O-Wars were thick everywhere (so were the blacks) so keep a hoody on and look up on the ascend.
