I had 2 dive buddies and shot video. Might be able to process some of the video, but that would have to be after diving today. See you guys out there, its cold but the dishies are nice.

Re: SLO Dive Conditions

Vis was off the chart yesterday in the Harbor. So I could only imagine what it looked like on the outside. Swell has dropped to nothen as well. looks like it's gonna pick up here shortly though. I'm land locked w/ a busted wing for awhile... Good luck fellas

Re: SLO Dive Conditions

I'm sure it was good. I wasn't doubting you. I just wanted to be there to see it for myself. Thanks for the report. What did you do to the arm Swede?

Re: SLO Dive Conditions

Had a short run out to Jalama today. Wind was up and the swell came up from yesterday (Harvest jumped from 3 ft before bed to 6ft this morning). Tried to push the yak through and took a beating. My buddy ended up breaking his paddle, so we called it good and got a burger.
Beta team walked a long way down the beach to freedive and had miserable conditions, less than 6ft and murking quickly. They saw almost nothing.

Hope you guys got to more hospitable places than I did today.

Re: SLO Dive Conditions

New sport... Urban dogsledding w/ a skate board. Bombed a hill while my dog was towing me in Osos. Then tride to surf over a sand burm and knocked myself the f@#k out, 3degree particial seperation of the shoulder and three bruised ribs. LOL! Thought i was 14yld again. The sad part of it was that there wasn't any alcohol or drugs involved. Just me...

Re: SLO Dive Conditions

Hey all, new guy here to the sport, but I am very excited to get out there and do some exploring.

The SLO conditions thread is brilliant. If someone doesn't mind a new guy tagging along, I would love to meet up with some of you and learn from experience. I am a very open learner. Let's do this!

Tomorrow is looking like about 9ft at 14seconds. Not much better looking in SB area either. This week is looking like a dry one.

Re: SLO Dive Conditions

Glad to hear it is flat in Morro. I was not expecting that with this forecast.

http://cdip.ucsd.edu/?nav=recent&sub...UTC&pub=public

A 7- to 9-foot northwesterly swell (300-degree deep-water)
(with an 11- to 13-second period) will develop along our
coastline on Monday and will continue at this height and
period through Wednesday.

Combined with this northwesterly swell will be periods of
1- to 3-foot southerly (180-degree shallow-water) seas on
through Wednesday.

Re: SLO Dive Conditions

just got back from a trip to sur this weekend. A buddy from humboldt drove down to meet me on what we thought would be good conditions. Saturday was terrible. Got in and fought the waves and a rip current till out of breath. got slammed on the rocks on my way out and beat the hell out of my gear. Sunday ended up looking good, wind calmed but the swell remained. It was doable without the wind chop though. Got in and had 15-30 feet of viz. Saw many rockfish. between my friend and I we took a handful of rockfish, one 10lb ling, a nice vermillion shot at 50ft that ripped off somehow, and a cab. monday the swell kicked back up to bone crushing size.

Re: SLO Dive Conditions

Surfed Morro Rock yesterday (Monday) and the visibility was as clear as I've ever seen it! I could see the bottom. Was thinking of trying to head out to the harbor mouth today for a spear around high tide and checking if it's still super clear before this rain we're supposed to get.
