Thanks for taking the time to PM me. I understand exactly what you mean. Unfourtunatly if were talking about freediving, a newbie with no clue what hes doing that you have to really watch is still much safer then no buddy at all. For me what really woke me up to how serious freediving is and how vital a buddy is was takinf a class. All other 5 guys in the course were spearo's and they said "knowing what i know now im not even going to dive with anyone unless they gave taken this class". I thought i knew the risks before... and truthfully i did.. but i didnt have the reality of seeing tge clips of it happening and seeing how a diver alone can easily die when freediving alone. no amount of skill can improve his odds. infact with more skill comes higher risks. So i understand how you feel but unfourtunatly your at a much greater risk diving alone then with a guy whos a major pain in your ass. Dont let these guys fool you, you can still be safe and dive in 20ft of water.

Just thought I would send you a pm. I don't think you understand what kind of diver I am. Yes, I'm new to free diving and spearfishing but scuba is a whole other topic. I am one of the most safety conscience divers around. I'm taking a rescue diver class just to be more able to help my dive buddies if they need it. I'm always looking out for others. Most of the people I dive with need a great deal of support. So when I dive solo, in 20' of water, I feel free because the only person I have to worry about is myself.
