I don't have any at the moment, and due to other commitments, don't expect to have any available for the next several months. Sorry to disappoint.

Hello, I am about to start a build on a small reef gun and my buddy was interested in building one also with me but doesn't have the time to buy the wood and laminate due to deployment. Do you have any blanks in the 55 inch range? Thanks for the help. Alan

Hi Dan. Mahogany is great for a stock. It's a little softer than teak, so I would epoxy coat it. Three 5/8" bands would work well, and you can use just 2 for smaller fish or lower vis. A little more ballast might be required because it's lighter, but that's no big deal. I haven't used mahogany for a speargun, but the grain just pops when varnished, so an epoxy coat would look really nice. West Systems is fine for laminating, but make sure you get clear for coating. Mako is about to come out with a redesigned reverse mech, so if you can wait a month or two I would use that, but if you are building sooner, the Neptonics will work fine. Nothing wrong with it, the Mako is just better. I would definitely laminate the stock. I use .4" lams, but that's mostly because I start with 4/4 wood, so .4" lams allows me to get 2 planed lams out of the 1" rough cut thickness. PM me if you want more info on the actual build, and I'll happily share some "do" and "don'ts"

    Hey Wood Guy,
I hear great things about your gun building skills and wanted to pick your brain about my build. I'm building a 55" mahogany gun, enclosed track, 5/16 shaft, I'm thinking of a neptonics systems trigger and handle I'm honestly not sure what size/number of bands I should go with. Is there anything special with mahogany that I should consider? extra aging of the wood? or should it be ripped into smaller pieces for laminating? Also I was thinking of going with West systems epoxy for the laminating. I'm definitely new at gun building not wood working. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Dan

Do you still sell the derlin Muzzle insert? Or any other parts or stocks for speargun building?

    Thanks,

    Hey,

I am interested in building my first speargun. Do you still make/sell blanks? If so, do you have a thread listing sizes/prices or would I just tell you the specs I was considering and then you quote me a price?

    Thanks in advance,
    Taylor
