Hi Phil, Sorry I missed you at the swap meet. I think I got there at about 1045 and was gone by about 1120. I had to be back for my daughters basketball game, which they lost 9-6. Oh well we'll get em next time. Keep in touch...Mark Macias
Thanks very much for being so thoughfull Phil.
To be honest will depend on the cost, also are there any restrictions on the import/export of such a substance.
I've just ordered some of this http://boatcraft.com.au/Shop/index.p...33ec5d8a4e3b85
which I think is worth giving a go.
Cheers and thanks again, let me know if you get a final price.
i wouldn't use just any epoxy ,"epoxy" covers a lot of products. my choices would be west systems , g flex or the one i use for finishing http://spearboard.com/showthread.php...urfboard+epoxy
i personalty use "my" epoxy or gflex
i normaly do epoxy finish on all the guns i build becuse
1)epoxy has sound dampining propertys and quiets down a gun
2) it make a gun last far longer becuse it limits water contact (water is not good for any wood including teak). any scratches are just in the finish not the wood
3)it looks very good
Hey Phil, Will any standard epoxy be suitable for laminating teak blanks or does it have to be a certain 'grade' or type. Also, would you recommend using an epoxy or teak oil to finish it. I have enjoyed your inputs in various forums and I look forward to your opinion regarding this issue. Thanks, Jeff
