Herd in certain parts of the world they can be toxic due to diet. They are grazers. reef poison. But Iíve read this is area specific...Always be cautious and talk to locals About eating certain fish ..Iím not a marine biologist. But for sure ,donít eat the ones closer to the Asian coasts...However In Baja, I spear and eat them all the time with out a problem...Excellent white meat...flaky. No oily, fishy flavor or after taste and take to any seasoning well producing what ever flavor you can think ofÖ Also my son is 9 and has eaten several with out a prob. They are also speared and eaten often in Hawaii.
