Yamaha350 vs 400 verado

Looks time to retire my 2008 Yamaha 350, I am heavily considering putting the 400 Verado on the transom and selling the 350 for what I can get out of It. Then running a nmea2000 system to my Simrad GO 12. Any one have experience with the Verado. Good or bad. I hope to pick up a couple mph in the deal. Yamaha is at least a hundred more pounds.
Thoughts please

New Mercury V8 300 is getting great reviews. lightweight and a lot of displacement. Same engine block as the 450 racing. I would take a look at that too. I have no experience with either but have been comparing boat motors for future purchase.
