Giant Mangrove Snapper!
2 Attachment(s)
Went out of Miami yesterday and we werent doing to great until the end. The vis was awesome and the water was flat like a lake. At the end of the trip I was swimming around and saw what looked to be like a mutton because it was so big but when I went down to look closer it turned out it was a 27 inch, 7 pound mangrove snapper. I didn't even think that mangroves got that big.

Damn nice mangrove for miami!!! They do get bigger though....much bigger. The five mangroves in the pic went 54lbs total with the biggest one at 12.5#. Never saw any this big when I lived in Miami though (unless they were small cuberas). These are from Louisiana.....off the oil platforms.

Re: Giant Mangrove Snapper!
The ones in that picture are crazy and yeah we just cut it into to chunks and fryed everything.

Re: Giant Mangrove Snapper!
Is that possibly a hybrid? (nice fish, by the way) Cubera/mangrove?
Jacks cross breed. I wonder if these snappers do? |
