Youngster dies at Dean's Blue Hole Bahamas.. RIP

This is truly tragic. 19 years old..... It could have been avoided and saved the grief and agony his family and friends will suffer the rest of their lives.

Here is a video of him diving to 70ft alone at Dean's Blue hole, Bahamas (this is not the video of his death... that wouldn't be respectful or ethical).

BUDDY SYSTEM!!! Please think before you dive alone or non buddy system. Yes, you may be dead but the ones left behind will be the ones that suffer...

Peace, Errol

A terrible, tragic loss. RIP Theron.

Please do not dive alone. Learn to effectively manage the risks in freediving/spearfishing. Blackout is insidious and indiscriminate; it claims the lives of novices and experts, from old to young, as the statistics reveal.

A true tragedy.. The saddest part of all is that Theron actually posted on spearboard asking for advice. Myself, Sasha58 and several others warned him about the way he was diving and give him suggestions on how to be safe... It crushed me to hear the news of his death.

This should be a wake-up call for all of us. This sport is deadly if not practiced properly. Follow the FREE advice on Divewise.org or take a class. Make the investment. It is a very small price to pay to become educated in freediving.

I wish everyone a very safe diving season.

Peace, Errol

He has passed on to his next journey and taught us all with a lesson with his death. Let's all focus on teaching one another with our lives. Don't dive unless you are observed by a trained safety. Practice safety training including blackout rescues in the water.

I had a feeling when hearing "youngster" and "Bahamas" it was the same guy that started that thread a few months ago looking for advice.. 19 years old....
