Re: Best Railgun/Pipe gun handle

As for Pathos D'II and money, prolly referring to replacing the trigger. Can't remember if the drop-in double roller trigger from Ermes is fully sorted out for that handle yet, though but others can...

Re: Metal wishbone FAILURE

One little, perhaps obvious, remark from here - some shafts also come with nasty sharkfins on them from the factory. I've had some with very sharp burs and also one where the top of the fin was just...

Re: Gladiator Spartacus V2 120

Beautiful gun, again;)
The raised name plate is a cool, but I hope it wont be a knuckle buster when loading.
Thanks for sharing all this info and details, it's hugely inspiring.

Re: Trigger Mechanism Design Rules

My take on extremely long triggers is that they don't make much sense if you chest load... My thinking is that each of us has a minimum distance we need from rear-most fin to the loading butt in...

Re: Shout out to Majd

It's days like these I really wish this forum has a "like" or thumbs up button.
I can imagine what he did for you and yes, the man deserves all the praise he can get.

Doggies - can an inverted roller really cut the mustard??

Thanks for weighing in:-)
I am thinking there might be small advantage in having the fish behind the rear barb - you’ll have the tip of the shaft further out on the “other side” so it can’t cut up...

Re: Doggies - can an inverted roller really cut the mustard??

Sorry for still being daft on this matter;)
But I have been thinking about the double offset flopper shafts and still can't understand exactly why they are better?
The way I see it (right now) is...

Re: New C4 Gladius speargun

I thought the orange bands and the color matching made up for that? Isn't that how modern day marketing works...? ;-)

Re: Master's Thesis on Speargun Design: Aalborg University

I think the foot pegs are part of a movable muzzle and that the loading is a bit "upside down". Their idea, I think, is to attach the wishbone to the shaft first, with the muzzle+foot peg assembly in...

Re: What I did with Makoa's barrel

Once you have it all rigged up again with all the bands, if you have a camera handy, I'd love to see how the bands lie when loaded? Are the clear of the belly or do they rub a tad?

Re: New C4 Gladius speargun

In reg. to the length, Kodama is - more likely - referring to how some brands have not adjusted the model designation to reflect using reverse triggers (or whatever is the reason). E.g. a Pathos 100...

Re: Pathos DíAngelo 2 issues

I know you have zero love in your heart for them, haha.
I tend to think at least half the heat they get is because there's much more spotlight on them. Majd could have picked other guns as a...

Re: oil finish on mahogany guns

Could very well be that the viscosity has a lot to say and that the two examples I referred to were done with a much thinner resin. So, not referring to a "theory" (that was a figure of speach - I am...

Re: oil finish on mahogany guns

Thanks so much for elaborating.
But... I may have to disagree on the "not possible to get too much oil into the blank" thing;-). At least in theory, as granted, I have never done wood impregnation...

Re: oil finish on mahogany guns

I think you guys might have to explain the new way more, it sounds really interesting;)

Thing is, if you pull vacuum too long, you can end up impregnating so much oil into the wood, you risk...

@Gazz,
As promised, here's a snap of the slip tip line retainer solution (disregard the migrating o-ring):

Re: Spearguns for Dogtooth Tuna

Of course this makes me smile as I was hoping it would perform well:-)
Not sure what’s happening with your slide ring and not sure how much time you have to get parts that should work?

Maybe...

Re: The Infinite Engines Dreamair moves from dream to reality

Iím also wondering how much it can be felt given that the drums are probably quite light and pretty small in diameter.

Modified rail gun muzzles

Marco posted this muzzle in another thread. I bought this one, too but in the end used the other modified Cressi posted above. I was worried it would be too easy to loose 14mm bands on this muzzle...

Re: Modified rail gun muzzles

My humble mods:
A Pathos muzzle with a bit of putty to not have double 14mm bands slide around too much. And hey, I gained 1cm of stretch, haha:

Re: linking rubbers together for more speed?

Your explanation sounds like you want to take a piece of rubber, cut it in half, glue it back together and expect to get twice the retraction speed...?

Re: linking rubbers together for more speed?

Yeah, I read that OP a bunch of times, didn't get it at all. And even now, with the sketch, I am still not getting it;)

Anders, I think you need to put a gun in that sketch and try again.

Re: Moving sharkfins further back on spear?

Not sure I got this...? You mean, if the sharkfins were further at the rear, then 360% would overpower the shaft? But as the fins are now, 360 is ok? Not sure that makes sense to me, as 360% on a...
