Epoxy and sunlight

What is a good epoxy for coating wood guns that is easy to apply and will hold up to sunlight? I have had problems with west systems turning cloudy over time.

Thanks

Re: What do you think is the best way to design the bands on the muzzle?

Is there too much room in the band slot? If the bands have too much room, they can move, twist, rub, etc. as the gun is fired. I prefer the band slot to be very tight, where the bands must be...

Re: JBL Woody Magnum Speargun Mahogany #6W46 vs 4W46

Check with the dealer. It could be a different style tip or shaft. Most woodys come with a 5/16" shaft, but some may have 3/8". I've never seen those numbers before.

Re: Hatteras Express

If you can't take it out for a good run, there is something REALLY wrong.

We are running a 1988 37' Topaz with 3208 CATs. When we bought the boat 3 years ago, everything on the boat worked with...

Re: Hatteras

Correct procedure there. It is a good idea to get your own broker and surveyor in the sportfish boat market.

ON the HATT..

Sounds like the boat will need shitloads of elbow grease and $$$$. ...

Re: JBL - JBL Hunter - New Guns

The old JBLs are great for killing shitpiles of big fish on Oil Rigs. The short ones are also excellent in low vis situations. They are not a good choice for freediving clear water, or stalking...

Re: mortising

Drill Press, Chisel, and Dremel...

Drill a series of holes to remove most of the material.
Use the chisel to straighten out the inside.
Use the dremel to slowly grind the inside.
Start...

Re: I need some advice

I believe when they righted your boat and towed it in, they had salvage rights to the vessel. I guess the $4k bill reflects those rights. With that much money involved, I would call a lawyer, and...

I think Aimrite offers a railgun that shoots large shafts. Check their site and talk to Rick.

Re: Hybrid Tubing Source

4 Bands could be a bit much for an aluminum barrel. You could epoxy a wooden dowel inside to add extra stiffness.

There is a thread somewhere on this board with an RA tube on a hybrid. Try a...

Re: Best way to finish wooden stock of a hybrid?

Teak oil has a gold/brown color to it, and it will alter the color of your gun. Usually makes it darker to some extent. Take a test piece and rub some oil into it. Place it in the sun for a while...

Re: War Birds

Great Story.

I was bush hogging food plots at the family farm Saturday. A red-tailed hawk followed me around for quite a while. He was snatching the rats and mice as the tractor flushed them out.

Re: Marlin seen while spearfishing, trying to identify type

I believe spearfishing is a restricted gear type for billfish in US Fed...
