Re: "TANKS" opinion?

Filling in water serves two purposes.

It keeps the tanks cooler so they can be filled faster and they don't drop off as they cool so you get a full tank without having to overshoot.

Also, a...

Re: Carp or Sterlet (Sturgeon) Soup video

That Sturgeon recipe is very close to the soup my mother used to make with Grass Carp. The turnips were the clincher.

Re: Sea Snip Dive Scissors

All our paramedics carry those scissors.

Many practitioners use them as bandage and cast scissors so they are often offered as "Booth Swag" at conventions but you have to get to the table early...

Re: Bull Shoals Lake in Arkansas

I hate that no-one has replied but, the truth is that with the fluctuating water the vis is going to stay wonky.

And, the truth is we fresh water shooters never give up our secrets.

There are...

Re: Help_Best solution to reconstitute screw holes?

Personally I drip a little epoxy into the holes - or dip the screws - or both if your OCD. Ideally you would use the same epoxy the gun is sealed with.

I've seen some people use CA glue but it...

Re: Wood pole spear? Dumb idea?

We played around with a bamboo pole spear. I'll see if I can find a picture. We split it thin, then pulled it through a dowel former (think very long bamboo skewers). we put them together with...

Re: Home made cooler

I've tried a couple of times to post some inside pictures. I guess it's because I'm using my phone. Im gonna try again since I'm sitting in an airport bored out of my mind.

Re: Home made cooler

Ballpark of 30 pounds - but it's a little too square and a little too long for one person my size to carry. If I was the 6' 3" that my dating profile claims I might have enough wingspan to carry...

Home made cooler

I saw the post on the home made coolers and thought I'd add this. I'm sorry I only have one picture - a picture of the inside would probably be useful. I built two of these over the winter. ...

Wrist rocket sling

Manoa Matt's Hawaiian sling reminded me of my old "wrist rocket" sling. I haven't used it in a while. Not really sure where the wrist webbing has gotten to.

It's no where as slick as the...

Re: Scuba tank - portable air tank/cascade to an air compressor

I use a scuba tank and reg to fill tires all the time. I use it with a ballast to run an air nailer. The off-road guys do this with high pressure tanks. It works great. If you are using it low...

Re: JB Weld poured track?

years ago my father scored several 1/4 and 1/2 gal "Devcon Steel" kits, which was very similar to jb weld, when a local hardware store went out of business. This was long before I was building...

Re: Custom GoPro Helmet

I looked at the different Gopro masks but I didn't see any with a big enough nose for my monster schnoz. Also, we often dive in brush and when a branch grabs the helmet it's just annoying. It...

Re: Custom GoPro Helmet

If a jumbled reply gets posted - I tried to reply on my phone. It didn't work out.

I didn't document the process well because I was in a big hurry and, well that's about it.

The process...

Custom GoPro Helmet

The basic head strap seemed insufficient and I wanted something that would hold it's position even when crawling through the brush.

Starting with a cast of my head the helmet fits so well there...

Seems to me that bending-up a sheet metal housing would be a difficult job to do with few tools – especially if you wanted to do it precisely. Popgun Pete's comments about the need for precision...

Re: Built my 1st gun

Really sharp for a first build. Of course, you've set the bar high for yourself. It will be hard to make improvements on your next gun.

Re: Dragon Gun

Yeah, the bit in the band is an 8-32 stainless pan head screw. The "bridle" is just stainless. Still hard to drill and tap but not as hard as an old shaft. This is the second gun I've used these...

Re: Dragon Gun
