Re: Utah Visibility Overview (please contribute!)

Dove deer creek in Willard bay Saturday. Vis only 4-5ft. Had a couple shots on walleye and missed with my pole spear. Really need to practice with that thing! Or just get a shorter gun.

It was...

Re: Different Wetsuit

I hope more do non-open cell suits. It is the only part I hate about spearfishing.

Are you planning on 5mm suits?

Re: Utah Visibility Overview (please contribute!)

Hit up blue lake. Vis about 10 ft, water nice and warm. Only took one Tilapia in the main lake, missed a few others with my polespear. I need some more practice. Tried to find the smaller pools...

Re: An Intro to Buying Wetsuits

Any idea on the neoprene they use? Couldn't find any mention on the site. How flexible/durable are they?

Re: Willow Beach Graveyard (This really bugged me)

Ya that stinks. I was just freediving in a small reservoir and saw a rainbow trout hooked on a line with a little flasher and no one fishing nearby, so I grabbed the line and pulled him in. I...

Re: Modifications to fit blades into Beuchat pockets?

It was the rail issue that I was thinking about. Do you have trim it all the way down to blade? I'm just a little worried about damaging it.

I also have heard about using black silicon to glue...

Modifications to fit blades into Beuchat pockets?

I got the Beuchat foot pockets because they were the one that fit me perfectly. I thought they would be standardized and able to fit the majority of blades on the market, but that was a bad...

Re: FII Review Mark Lozano / Freediving might not be for me

I remember the first couple of months when I first got into freediving I couldn't equalize past 10/15ft, and worried I would be stuck like that forever. I have always had sinus issues so I figured...

Re: Laws effecting Utah

I thought it was just the restriction of not spearing bass during their spawning time.

Re: Site against free diving training

I think it is good to mention the site is not actually against free dive training. At the bottom of the main page they have this "For freediving and spearfishing safety guidelines and safety courses...

Re: Low volume mask with larger nose pocket

The omer zero 3 mask has a fairly large nose pocket, at least compared to a couple of other masks I have used. I actually have to focus on pinching further in because if I pinch on the edge it...

Re: Tactics

I have found in waist deep water you are less likely to see anything, but I still have seen carp come up really shallow. I have had luck sometimes in 10ft of water, you just need a nice big rock to...

Re: Tilapia at Blue Lake

I think it's great except that the only time I want to go to blue lake is not during the spearfish season. It really needs to be year round for Blue lake.

Re: $500 Giveaway from Dive Addicts!

You guys are awesome!

As far as the site goes, 2 things really stick out to me.

1. It really needs a background and some more structure (like lines and borders). Not really a fan of the...

Re: Lung Training

I don't have any opinions of the device, but I do want to challenge the reason that comes up most of the time for not using the lung training devices. Namely "They make your chest muscles stronger...

Re: I'm learning to Freedive

Wow. So now it is not even an issue of this guy dying, but some clueless kid trying to follow his poor example to do some of this stuff on their own and dying.
Ridiculous.

Re: Utah Visibility Overview (please contribute!)

Went to deer creek last Saturday in Walsburg bay. The north side had a lot of algae that made it hard to see sometimes, but when you got far enough from the edge the vis was still only 5ft or so....

Re: Utah regulation changes survey

Just a reminder that the last day to take the survey is this Friday, June 15th, 2012. There are only about 10 short questions and then the written suggestion part at the end so it is pretty quick....
