Re: Best Railgun/Pipe gun handle

:D I’d have to say I’m hitting a rock, either by a miss, or a pass through, with about 90% of my shots, so I’m no stranger to tip damage. I’ve gone through a number of JBL twin barb rock tips on my...

Re: Best Railgun/Pipe gun handle

I guess I’m just trying to decide if I should keep this new little B28 powered way down and strictly use it as a close range hole gun to prevent wear problems, or power it up, rig it with a double...

Re: Best Railgun/Pipe gun handle

So trying to sort through all this, it appears that there are major advantages and also major disadvantages to these new reverse trigger mechanism handles. As I see it, generally, the advantages are...

Re: Best Railgun/Pipe gun handle

Pete, I’m guessing you’re an engineer, because I didn’t understand a quarter of what you said…:D
I just looked into the front of the mechanism on my new B28, and it doesn’t appear to have a roller. ...

Re: Best Railgun/Pipe gun handle

I wasn’t aware of the galling problem until recently. I always thought American mechanisms like Riffe, Neptonics, etc., were stainless on stainless, but apparently not?

Re: Best Railgun/Pipe gun handle

Hi Majd,
Hey what is your opinion on the current Meandros B-28 trigger? Particularly in terms of durability?
Thanks,
Ron.

Re: Palos Verdes Dive Conditions 10-23-2021

Man that looked like fun! Kinda like the crawdad diving we do in the lakes up here, but on steroids! Great video! Thanks for sharing.
Ron.

Re: Palos Verdes Dive Conditions 10-30-2021

Very cool video, as always!:thumps:
My first experience diving SoCal was a cattle boat trip out to the Channel Islands. I was on scuba, and back then, terrified of sharks. On my first drop I hit...

Re: Covid-19 Shots vs. Free Diving Issues

Looks like a thread that needs to be immediately moved to the politics and religion section…

Re: 14 mil bands that are "softer"

I’ve used 9/16” tubing from a number of sources on my small guns and I know exactly what you mean. Some of the stuff I’ve gotten ahold of feels harder to pull and shoots harsher that some 5/8”...

Re: 17.5mm rubber?

Got back from the coast last night. Got a chance to do a quick shore dive and chase a few fish with the RA70. I tried out the 17.5 primeline rubber. It’s cut to 230% loaded to the first notch, and...

Re: 17.5mm rubber?

That’s a very good point! Right now everything I have is Primeline rubber, but I’ve had a few batches in the past that varied a lot. I think I’ll just start at 22” and trim it down from there. ...

Re: 17.5mm rubber?

It is indeed good stuff! So, silly question, but as to cutting 17.5 to length. I’m thinking I would just go halfway between what I would cut 16mm to and what I would cut 19mm to? As an example, on...

Re: Advice for a new 70cm gun.

I have, and it looks really good! I tried to e-mail Mako via their “contact us” icon on their website with some questions, but it didn’t work. When I clicked on send, it flashed “URL not found”,...

Re: Advice for a new 70cm gun.

Max I’m a bit embarrassed to admit it, but I already have a C-0 and use it often. I just don’t shoot it very well. I love it for hole hunting and bad vis, and on a good day, can even do well with...

Re: Advice for a new 70cm gun.

Yeah good guns, but not for me. Dive with a buddy and tried his out, but just didn’t care for it.

One big advantage to the RA’s is that spare shafts are easy to get and fairly inexpensive. I...

Advice for a new 70cm gun.

Been using my trusty old Rob Allen 70 here in NorCal for a long time, but one of my son’s “frankengun”, that I built him, no longer works. Trigger mechanism is worn out. Thinking about handing down...

17.5mm rubber?

The gun I find the most useful here in NorCal is my little Rob Allen 70. On a gun that small I’m a fan of just a single band. With a 7mm shaft, a 19mm band cut to 23 inches gives the most accuracy....

Re: Spectra wishbones for small ID bands?

:stupid:

I have an idea the type of line I’m using for my constrictors is a big part of the problem. I’m kinda embarrassed to say that I’m using waxed dacron bowstring thread, doubled up. It’s...

Re: Spectra wishbones for small ID bands?

Thank you sir!
That’s actually pretty much how I’ve made the bands for my Riffe guns, but using much thicker line and dipping the knots in 5 minute epoxy. I tried the same technique awhile back...
