There is a rumor floating around that it was announced at some time during the meeting that NOAA has issued an emergency rule (apparently yesterday) to delay the 5000 sq. mile closure along the east...

Re: Can we take Red Snapper after Dec 5th?

Re: What kind of grouper is this?

Len, FWIW it usually helps to be right and sure of your position before you gloat in an argument. Granted, in this case it wasn't clearly obvious that it was a nassau, but once you have a few...

Re: Dredging the Meg Ledge

FWIW, Some of my info comes from people who hunt Meg teeth in NC. Your astute observation that I have 7300 posts is due to the fact that I was an original member of spearboard when my friend Scott...

Re: Dredging the Meg Ledge

From what I know from tooth experts in both NC and SW florida, Meg teeth are mostly found in the sand overlying flat hard bottom. Even if that boat hits the "ledge" 3 times a week with 10 guys...

Re: SWB Enough is Enough

There are several people who manufacture brass or stainless canisters for small spot epirbs which seem to work very well.

Re: SAFMC covering their rear

A) I believe they mean that it is still being overfished in terms of dead discard mortality related to bycatch...i.e. how many red snapper did you catch and release that subsequently died as a...

Sorry to Behslayer if I seem out of line...re-reading it I do seem callous given the circumstance and I apologize, however my points would be the same given the subject matter without the personal...

Re: SWB Enough is Enough

Absolutely not, they do not change the nature of breath hold

Perhaps I did jump the point a bit, but not so much as many freedivers have missed a point in a scuba thread to call out their...

Re: SWB Enough is Enough

No, I'm being serious. A freediver can't be an elitist or purist and take huge risks then reject those risks when the results are not favorable, seeking technology as an answer. Sorry about your...

Re: SAFMC covering their rear

True, but my main intent of this thread was to shed light on the "oh, well the SEDAR 24 is showing that the stock has improved, they claim because they closed snapper, but it is still overfished". ...
