yeah near shore usually will be fairly clean. I was driving over the bay yesterday and it was fairly clear in the bay. North winds usually do not stir up the sediment with deposited by nearshore...

We dove at Windy Point one time. Had some sailboats and other gear onthe bottom. Ascuba Venture in Corpus did their checkout dives there when I got Certed years ago.

Choke Canyon is pretty clear and warm right now. Should be good spearing. In Victoria you could scout Coleto Creek, not sure how clear it would be. But you can spear gar and carp in most Fresh...
