Re: Dive Flag Question

By maritime law you have to fly "Alpha" when diver down; the white flag with the blue knotched end. The red flag with a white stripe on it means nothing even though people put the red flag stickers...

Re: yup .... HOGFISH TO CLOSE IN ENTIRE SOUTH ATLANTIC

go figure NOAA is going to make another bonehead decision with no reliable data to back it up. Same story with the new MPAs they are creating off the Carolina coast.

Re: Helmet Conch in SC & GA

I was poking fun JB and those are the regs for SC. No one harvests conchs because there are no conchs to eat off the SC coast except the red florida fighting conch which is actually a welk and I...

Re: Methods for Finding Structure

G Man in some states it is illegal to fillet fish at sea so you have to bring your fish back to the dock to process. So in the USA when we say "put em on the dock" that means actually bringing fish...

Re: Methods for Finding Structure

Best Method to finding structure- Go get a map of local spots and wrecks; then stay away from them because every other person in the area knows these spots too. Then troll around and stay glued to...

Re: Keys bag 11/7/14

It is bad to take small hogfish on a regular basis. This guy was legal and wanted some meat on the table; nothing wrong with that but your statement about the resource is wrong. A 12in female yields...

Re: Boat ran over diver

How unfortunate. Just because you have enough money to buy a boat does not mean you have enough common sense to drive one. The majority of boaters are idiots and have no business being on the water;...

Re: Keys bag 11/7/14

Nice gray snapper, looks like you had a fun day.

Once they change the size limit of hogfish down there and you start to see how big these fish grow to and what kind of meat a bigger fish yields...

Re: Sharks killed after Australian surfer loses hands in attack

The people who are saying "protect the sharks" do not dive or surf in areas where there are large numbers of GWS most of the year if not at all. People who want to protect the sharks have not been...

Re: Looking for spearfishing buddys

You should not try Wrightsville this week/weekend, runoff is going to cloud things up and there is a big swell coming from the SE with offshore winds; strong current and big waves. Better off surfing...

I dont know, I have not been in the bay area for some time now and have not been paying attention to the stock landings since that particular species does not effect my lively hood. It would be a...

Re: A man-made attempt to save the rarest fish on Earth

I worked as a fisheries biologist and worked under grants. I know what a waste of money this is because I did similar things; though I was estimating population of stripe bass and growth rates of...

Re: How to get rid of Lionfish

No regs, just an SPL and rec fishing license. They are an invasive species so they are not under any law and have no limit. Great eating fish and a beautiful presentation on the plate but people who...
