Re: Cobra kayak for sale 400$

Man that's a great deal! Those Cobra's are rugged, well made boats.
Somebody's gonna be fully outfitted for a great price!

Re: Savage rifle frustration!

Well, Savage came through with the kind of service that caused me to buy a second Savage rifle. I got an e-mail this morning saying that it could be a magazine issue. They offered to send me...

Re: Savage rifle frustration!

Does indeed sound like a mag issue, but since I did pull the gun apart and put it back together, there's a strong possibility it's a faulty owner issue too!:D

Re: Savage rifle frustration!

I've seen the type of feeding issue you're talking about and know what it would look like, but this isn't quite the same. I'll try and explain...
The last round in the magazine actually (appears)...

Re: Savage rifle frustration!

[QUOTE=Superfrog;1944232]Does your Savage have the staggered round feed, or the single round feed?

Thanks for the advice!
The magazine is the single round feed type. I'm hoping it's indeed just...

Re: Savage rifle frustration!

This is actually my second Savage rifle. The first is a .22 bolt gun that's the most accurate thing I've ever shot. I had an issue with that gun that I wasn't even sure was a gun problem and not an...

Savage rifle frustration!

I just purchased a new Savage model 111 FCNS. It's got their accutrigger and accustock, and is chambered in 30-06.
Not a bad rifle overall but...
I was cleaning up the rifle and checking it's...

Re: Banksboard 1 or 2?

My next trip to the coast, if the swell's decent, I'm gonna try surfing my gen 2 BB boogie board style. I think it'll work really well for that. Certainly has more float than my boogie boards!

Re: Banksboard 1 or 2?

[QUOTE='o Cino;1936286]But when you do catch those 10"+ free swimmers, the BB2 can handle the weight!

Safety warning: If the 10's are swimming, get out of the water. They've been known to slam...

Re: Banksboard 1 or 2?

My board, as well as all of my kayaks, are bright orange for the reasons Diablo mentioned. I've also found a flag invaluable for finding my board. It's amazing how little swell it takes to block...

Re: Banksboard 1 or 2?

I'm not sure there's a "3". I believe there is a first and second generation of the first, smaller hull, and then there's the "2", which is the bigger hull.

So far, I've been able to clip my...

Re: Banksboard 1 or 2?

My wife bought me the BB II for Christmas and I love it! It is indeed pretty good sized and some the the guys in our club who are slightly vertically challenged complain that the II is too long to...

Re: Wax Your Kayak For Speed?

There's a thing called the "Eppies Great Race" in Sacramento every year. It consisted of running, biking, and kayaking. Friends of mine that raced it and used plastic boats would take a razor blade...

Re: I could picture a bloody fish on the hood.

I remember fishing with my dad back in the 60's and watching the old water cars of the day drive down the boat ramp and out onto the lake.
Modern version of a very old idea.

Re: What's a Limited edition JBL sawed-off magnum worth?

Since it might have more value as a collector's item than a working gun, maybe contact Guy Skinner at JBL. He might be interested in it for display?

Re: Shafted Striper Counts ?

With what amounts to terrorist tactics being used by some of the H&L guys on the American, (at least from what I've heard and read), I didn't even go back to my home waters to try...

Merry Christmas Dano,
Hey, I wasn't talking about Mako suits, (although reading my post, it might have sounded that way, sorry). I have an old suit from a manufacturer that I believe is now out of...

Re: CA Winter Wetsuit

As to weight, my 7mm freedive suit takes the same amount of weight as my old 7mm scuba suit, so I wouldn't expect to take a lot of weight off your belt.
As to thickness, when I decided to buy a...

Re: Why use notched shafts?

I spear in NorCal, and don't shoot fish big enough to bend shafts. For me, the advantage of a notched shaft with the mono attached to the rear comes when I string fish, which is often if they're...

Re: Scupper Pro 15' vs 17'

Yep, you're absolutely right. I forgot about the rudder option and the pedals that go with it. I have a rudder on my 17' Sea Lion, but would never want one on my scupper. I never found a need for...
