I live in southern Maryland and I wouldn't try anywhere in the bay (I've never dove the CBBT) .

If I want to get wet and shoot some fish as quick as possible, I drive 3 hrs to OC

Plenty of hogs off NC. We shoot around the Frying Pan Tower area.

For recreation spearos this would really suck. You pay for all that boat gas to go out 40 miles and shoot 1 hog and 1 gag? ...

Understood on the reef spots/areas, I kinda figured that.

I guess I was under the impression that the gulf had better conditions the more you get away from KW and head toward the Marquesas. But...

My Dad got a place on Cudjoe for the month of July (I'm going down for 3 weeks). I bought the Lower Keys numbers and looking forward to having a bunch of spots to try out.

I don't know if I would say one is better than the other.....just that one fits a particular style more than the other.

I personally like a wood gun for scuba and I prefer the way the shooting...

The Raritan is public, it's 70-80 to the sand but if you get to 40-50 ft you can still shoot stuff. Last Saturday we went there on a whim and at about 40 ft I saw mackeral, AJ and shot this AP...on...

Don't know much about porgies but hogfish are pretty easy to swim right up to. If you're trying to bring them in try messing with the sand like some people mentioned also try fooling with a lobster....

The license he's talking about is just a sticker for the boat. It's the same in MD. You buy a yearly fishing license for your boat and no one is required to have an individual fishing license on...

Dove the African Queen wreck this past Saturday on OC Dive Boat. A few of us were spearing. I got a couple tog, one nice and fat along with some lobster and mussels.

Viz was 10ish but got better...

I've always tried to keep mine alive until I cleaned them b/c once they die I heard they let out ink and the meat absorbs it. They are still edible but I heard it doesn't taste as good.

Mako only has the railgun mount, they don't have a wooden gun mount yet. (not sure which one you need)

I use the go pro mounted to my gun. I bought the naked package (260) and the extra mounts...

I'll be freediving when we look for Mahi...don't plan on going too deep though, I'm not trained up enough on it.

When we go to the reefs we'll be on scuba unless it's like 20-25 ft, then I might...

Did two weeks vacation on Cudjoe 2 yrs ago and the water was green except for one top to bottom day out by American Shoal, Looe Key was hit or miss.

I'm coming down again June 18th through July...
