A new way to cook white sea bass

Or at least new to me. I may be the last one to get the word.

Chis Oak recently mentioned Miso Yaki on another board and said his wife was nuts about it. Then when Daryl Wong was at my house a...

Re: Using a 3/8 track for 11/32 shaft?

For what its worth, my Wong Magnum Hybrid has a track cut for 5/16 and I've been using a 9/32" in it for years.

Re: Mainphrame promised wsb trip report

Maybe not. Perhaps I didn't miss anything when I didn't get up at 0200 to accept his challenge.

Re: Be careful what you eat

OK, forgive me if I'm wrong, and I'm too lazy to go back and search for your posts. But haven't you told us that every word in the bible is the inerrant word of God? The Old Testament is part of the...

Re: O2 saturation changes

They didn't want to draw blood- they wanted to put dye in. I had an IV in my left forearm from the first hour or so I was in the hospital, but they said they needed a bigger vein to inject the dye...

Re: Mainphrame promised wsb trip report

The only island with public moorings is Catalina, and I like to use them when I can. Its very comforting to know that you are tied down fore and aft and aren't going anywhere during the night.

Re: Be careful what you eat

I doubt that God had anything to do with it, but I bet Northstar will approve of this message. I sent the article to a group of friends including my brother-in-law, and here is his reply.

Re: Mainphrame promised wsb trip report

I've only been up to the Channel Islands a handful of times and I've only spent one night out there, but it was in Smuggler's Cove and it was a hell of a night.

I was on a friend's 26' Skipjack....

Re: Best sliptip

This may be more than you want to know, but I'll point out something about the Kitto tip. Notice that it has a replaceable point. You could even have tricut and pencil points to switch off on the...

Re: Best sliptip

I guess so.

But then some people are going to point out that the flopper creates more drag and resistance to penetration.

Re: tied up at 55 and cut my finger - co2 float too

Great story, great fish!

I'm glad to hear that the float helped bringing up the fish. I hope to be able to use my float one day soon. :)

Re: Best sliptip

I suppose the reason is to make sure the tip comes off the adapter. I can think of one time when it might have been helpful. I shot a very large white sea bass using a Mori tip and the tip didn't go...

In addition to that link where you can buy single issues, Jeromy says he's checking with his California distributor to find out where the magazine is available.

Re: I'm coming out of the closet, I'm a Seal lover.

Big differences. The harbor seals often follow you around like puppies, and seem to want to make love. I've never had a seal try to take my fish.

The sea lions come zipping by fast and startle...

Re: I'm coming out of the closet, I'm a Seal lover.

I like harbor seals too, and have had similar experiences.

Its still startling to be cruising along at 25 feet and have something grab your fins though.

Re: Best sliptip

I consider my Wong and Mori tips to be the best. The only difference is that the Wong has a tiny tricut point which may aid penetration of bone or gill cover, although someone told me that Mori may...

I wasn't smart enough to be tipped off. I realize that he has a lot of tatoos, but I didn't know that included the hands and knuckles.

Re: Ruined a good salmon dinner

Wow!

Is it legal to spear salmon? If not, it would be hard for a game warden to make a case if you left the salmon in the ling with spear through both, but I suppose some would try it.

Re: Spearing Magazine

I have been corrected. That's Colin Sutton on the cover. Since he was with a Sea Sniper gun and there was an interview inside with Chris Chaput, I just assumed that was Chris on the cover. That will...

Re: Have boat...need passengers! :)

I don't quite know what to say, but I'll try anyway.

Lets assume you were starting at 0600. All I'd have to do it is get up at 0200 to start a 3-hour drive to Ventura so I could dive out of an...
