Re: Current Vis - Tampa Bay Region (Homosassa to Sarasota)

Hogs, mangroves, and to my surprise a nice 23" red grouper. Also got a king while trolling between spots.

Re: Keaton Beach Report May 25th 2011

Went out of steinhatchee last weekend. I have never stared at so many 30" gags in my life. They have definitely caught on to not being shot at.

Re: Is There Oil In Our Future??

We were 56 miles out of Steinhatchee on Saturday and saw nothing. The vis was actually pretty good. Ran a little South towards Cedar Key as well, no sign of anything related to oil.

Re: considering ab biller floridian 54"

I have a 52" Biller Custom and dive out of steinhatchee and Cedar Key very often. It is a great gun for freeshafting in our area. Two 5/8" bands work great. This last summer I put one 5/8" and one...

Re: Freeshafting?

You really learn how to make good shot selection. I always make sure to be shooting down or at least at an angle that if I miss the shaft is not going out of sight. It can be tricky when taking shots...

Re: Freeshaft speargun question?

48" AB Biller Floridian would be perfect for freeshafting out of crystal river. Or if you want to go bigger a 54". I have shot plenty of 30+ inch groupers with both those guns in the big bend area.
