Re: band retraction speed... 14 vs 16 vs 20

In a speargun, the bands just provide energy to the shaft. The speed of band contraction definetly must be one of the major factors in play, but it is not the only factor. There is a fine balance...

Re: Metal wishbone FAILURE

This happened also to my brother just before a spearfishing trip when testing his gun in the pool. He had to spearfish the entire trip with a funky stent and small cast on his finger. But to be...

Re: Metal wishbone FAILURE

You are pretty lucky as metal wishbones can slice you up pretty good even with if you have a thin wet suit on. But metal wishbones really do clear up your site picture as they spread the bands out...

Re: Gladiator Spartacus V2 120

Actually that is an excellent idea and I have done that with a few C4 handle modifications for those guns. Basically you keep the standard center with just finger grooves and then with 2 screws you...

Re: Gladiator Spartacus V2 120

Really great craftsmanship! Great attention to detail in every aspect.

Re: Carbonia 115x6

Very nice gun and looks like a good shooter. The loading hooks definitely is an issue that needs to be fixed. Should be quite easy though. Just put inserts up front where you can put hooks in...

Re: New C4 Gladius speargun

Great to see they changed that awful muzzle system. I actually made a very nice modification for my C4 with a 3D printed muzzle I made that used the existing screw holes. The Urukay has 2 side...

Re: Doggies - can an inverted roller really cut the mustard??

I think the idea of a second flopper is simply to add insurance. A large Dogtooth Tuna WILL break any flopper. I know this was a big problem and and Hunt tried many changes to deal with this...

Re: RIFFE Marauder speargun

The Riffe Euro and Marauder guns have a design flaw that can be quickly fixed. The stock is just way too thin and will flex quite a bit if loaded with even mildly pushed bands. With the shorter...

Re: Band suggestions

Bands will always stretch out if new, but after the first stretch they will stabilize. You can either over stretch them about 20% and after a few firings they will drop to the level you want ... or...

Re: Band suggestions

8mm shaft loves 14.5mm small ID bands. Start at 360% and if you can push them to 380% ... all the better. If you have 135cm of band stretch ... that will be very close to Terminal Velocity of the...

Re: My Invert Roller

Unfortunately that trigger will gall (scratch) and it will cause an inconsistent trigger pull which you might not notice ... but it will hurt your accuracy as the break point of the trigger will be...

Re: Pathos muzzle line guide

I just add another screw on the muzzle. Just make sure you don't hit the O ring with the new screw. The ring itself seems quite strong as it goes inside the plastic mold and never had it come off...

Re: Pathos D’Angelo 2 issues

Reverse triggers in general have a tremendous amount of pressure on the sears. There is no lever divider to reduce the stresses on the sears. Add to that the fact that on most pipe guns the...

Re: Pathos D’Angelo 2 issues

Can you post pictures? Pix from side and from top view. Also if you remove the trigger can you check the width of the mech box in several different locations, to get an idea of trigger box...

Re: Ermessub Double Roller Trigger Test

The trigger sear can be removed with a simple punch out of the trigger sear pin. You need to be aware that the pin has a torsion spring inside it thus to put it back in you have to orient the spring...

Re: Rollergun feedback: Petar Pan, Alemanni, Briante, Carbonia

I tried the OB 145 and is one of the few guns that I shot that was actually painful. That is just way too much power that is channeled directly into your thumb. The gun absolutely needs to have a...

Re: Roller Spearguns - whats the fuss about?

Great shooting! Not easy to nail fast moving fish at distance. Some of those shots looked like they were 6m +!

Re: Rollergun feedback: Petar Pan, Alemanni, Briante, Carbonia

I think what is critical in an invert roller or simple roller is to control the shaft on exit. The lighter the shaft the more difficult it is to control with those setups. With a heavier shaft you...

Re: 120cm 3K Carbon Barrels For Sale

There are quite a few muzzle that work well on the Pathos pipes or pipes around 26.5mm ID. Here is an Epsealon muzzle for around $7. I added band elevator (with small channel for line) with epoxy...

Re: My Invert Roller

Hmmm ... for me this picture shows some serious tail lift which will make the shaft unstable and shoot low. With these type of roller heads, best result is to have no or minimal pre-stretch. So it...

Re: Moving sharkfins further back on spear?

Yes exactly. I know that it doesn't make sense but after making 30 custom shafts @ 7mm with fins maxed out I had to find out the hard way! There is a lot of things with a speargun that just don't...

Re: Moving sharkfins further back on spear?

That is just way too much shaft over hang and that will cause the shaft to shoot lower … especially if you move the shark fins even further back. You want the absolute minimum shaft extension from...

Re: Moving sharkfins further back on spear?

Depends on your shaft diameter and how your muzzle deals with bands. The lighter the shaft the more problematic it is with these super maxed out back shark fins. By the way I don't consider the...
