If you get poisoned once the poison remains in your system for a long time. Most likely you were experiencing symptoms from the initial poisoning.

Regardless you got a mild poisoning / low dose....

Ciguatera can not be Killed. It is a poison. There is no way to get it out of a fish once the fish is tainted.

Your safest bet is to not eat older and larger reef predators. Hogfish are a gamble...

There are plenty of fish in 30-40 around there. The place isn't over spearfished. I fill stringers all the time and so do many of my friends. Occasionally you will have a dive where there is nothing...

My first "real" band gun was a Biller way back in the day. For the money back then it was hard to beat. Now days as an experienced and acomplished spearo I would say a RA / Euro style gun is the best...
