Re: Speargun Build Question

There is probably a way arround it but mid handles with detachable handles are not easy to build with a high handle.

You can only raise the handle as much as the required push rod (for the remote...

Re: Abellan and Orca Evo (same but different?)

Stock shape is shared between several manufacturers, it is what it is. Roundish on the bottom side, flat on the top. They are appreciated here in Spain. Not cheap.

I won't lie to you, they do look...

Re: Heavy Duty DIY Floatline for less then 30$

Looking good! just a few pointers.

1- Seems like you have a well equipped shop. If you have an air compressor, you can use the same method contractors use to lay cables in underground conduit....

Re: Made a 145cm inverter, 10mm shaft

Holly crap! I have a few friends with 3D printers.... but if that piece is printed in metal, then you are playing in another league!!

I do have a basic shop where I wrench, make some wood guns,...

Re: Bleutec linerelease

If the line release is built in anyway similar to the Meandros LS mech, then it is piece of cake. However I would advise you to find yourself some needle nose pliers (thin ones) or makeshift tool to...

Re: Pathos-inspired Cayman Build (not so pic heavy;-))

Yes, that's what I meant by lanyard... and yes, it makes sense to remove it so you don't burn it while stippling!

Re: Fusion Rollers - Build photos and finished guns

Thanks a lot for the information. This reminds me that I should order that 3M spray adhesive we discussed in another thread... but I don't think that NOW is the appropiate time to do it.

I will...

Re: Aimrite 85cm roller

The shorter and thicker the shaft, the better. You need to add mass and reduce length to gain in ridgidity and punch. I would go as short as the gun allows (flopper resting on the muzzle or almost)...

Re: ghetto style knife sharpening

Frosted side of glass is abrasive only to some extent, which means that if you don't have already a decent edge on the knife, it will not work that well. It is more a hone that a sharpening stone....

Re: Fusion Rollers - Build photos and finished guns

Beautiful guns as always!

Just a question, out of the total build time... how much do you spend in the cutting, and shaping the handles?

Have you looked into making yourself a silicon mold and...

Re: slip-tip auto destruct

I don't use slip tips and I don't shot big fish... but I guess that the culprit of the whole mess was the center-of-mass shot...

I do it as well, as I am far from a sniper, but the truth is that I...

Re: Pathos-inspired Cayman Build (not so pic heavy;-))

Looking good!!! I have to try that checkering one of these days in a gun of mine...

Is the lanyard missing in that picture?

Re: New build - 135 compound roller

Beautiful gun!!!

Any issues bumping arround the muzzle area? The sides seem a bit thin... and while the core takes most of the load on the pulley shaft a bad bump and you could break it.

I know...

If you are asking about final diameter of the band because you want to plan a build and want to adjust the shape or recess milled on the stock to alocate the bands in...

Re: Cuttlefish barrels

Mechs are usually made in a way they can adapt to different shaft diameters. If the shaft is resting properly on the track, then it will self-center in the mech, so this should be a non issue. If the...

Re: Band suggestions

Don't use those. They allow water inside the band and in some instances the metal wire has spread open and let go.

There is another Cressi metal insert called CONICAL insert....

Re: ghetto style knife sharpening

If anyone is thinking about a dedicated portable sharpener, have a look at the WorkSharp sharpeners (small belt grinder meant solely for sharpenning).

If you don't have a dremel-like tool, you can...

Re: Sea Hornet Handspear Gun

Congratulations on that last purchase Pete!

I cannot picture myself using one of those as I started fishing directly with a Nemrod Cazador gun. Crappy one by today's standards but a gun with a...

BTW, did you just lay the new gun on top of a tipped BBQ? XD XD XD

Great job,

Re: Storing wetsuits

You guys are doing it all wrong. Best way is to buy the suit, put it on and don't take it off until it is time to replace it (along with full body skin draft). How you deal with nature calls, is up...
