S Laguna 1/10

Dove a couple of spots today in south Laguna. Great day on the water with light winds and sun. Vis ranged from 15' on top at the far outside to 1' on the bottom at 50'. It seemed like the deeper you went the worse the vis on bottom was? The best we found was Montage at 10'+ top and bottom and 55 degrees. Very few fish seen, so we ran out and caught some sand dabs and sculpin on H&L for dinner. Pan fried Sand Dab is sooo good The forecast looks good the next few days so it may be divable, just bring a short range gun and try not to shoot your buddy

Hmmm

Thanks for the report freeride. Sounds like all the crap is still taking time to settle. Meanwhile, the swell has really died and the chlorophyll charts are showing some cleaner water towards newport. I think conditions are set to improve. I'm going to give N. laguna a try tomorrow.

Re: S Laguna 1/10

The swell doesn't look too bad in Laguna from wetsand.com. Saturday will see 3-4ft and sunday mellows out a bit.

We will see. I am hoping it's decent, I really want to get out.

Did you see what vis looked like in less than 20ft? Thinking about going for some shallow bugs later.

Yes, its been too long.

Re: S Laguna 1/10

Hey Joe, How far north did you make it? Sea sports said 15-20 at shaw's.

I am stoked my ab bar came in just in time for a boat trip on Wednesday. Time to get some tasty abs. JK. I mean scallops. I may try the Florida technique of tow spearfishing to look for halis.
