CatalinaYellows Aug 5th
Got the invite from Mark on his sweet skipjack 26
We had a great time. 73-75 degree H20 35-70 foot vis Worked the paddies and hot spots for 8 yellows and one dodo. We lost 4 fish and missed 4 shots alltogether. My first two shots fell short and I watched the school chase my shaft on the way down. What I thought to be 10 lbrs and 10 feet away, were actually 23 feet away and who knows how big (maybe 30+) I got a big one though 30 lbs and 43 inches. Go get em! |

Re: CatalinaYellows Aug 5th
Hey bud,
I was on the boat right next to you. One of you two guys swam right by me at that rock yesterday... I was wearing the Yazbeck and another buddy was wearing a blue Omer camo suit. We heard you hootin and yelling bringing fish onboard. We did ok, but much better last weekend. I spent the half the day actually just diving the shallows there and taking pictures... never seen so many lobsta piled on top of each other. 100's of em.

Nice fish Jimmyjam, I'm green w/ envy as I was supposed to go, but just couldn't get those days off. I'm glad you guys scored on some nice fish and wish I could have been there to see Eric jumping in on that paddy trying to get that Bull dodo chasing Mark's shot fish, etc....sounds like it was a good time.

Yes we thought we had the place to ourselves, and were pretty bummed when 4 more divers jumped in next to us. We got our 2 fish early and then just did not see the Yellows again.

Sounds like the paddy hopping etiquette is brushing off to the islands now huh? (Bummer)

Like you said Tommy "The flood gates are open"
Thanks all for the replies. We fed 15 people sashimi last night from one quarter of that fish. So so good |
