I remember literally waving my around in the empty seat next to me and barely managing not to say "by myself" when calling the tower announcing my position in the pattern.

No experience like your first solo. Still remember mine as clear as crystal. I flew a warrior just like that one as well. Great plane.

Couldn't get the checkride on his 17th birthday due to high winds. So he had his checkride today.
Private pilot in less than 3 months. Now I find out he already has plans to take his friends up before the months end. Good thing the anual is due and I don't have to make excuses why he can't take the plane keys.

Shoot. He fessed up and his so called friends turn out to be a girl, and he wants to show her Downtown Chicago over a wing on her birthday.
I guess the annual will have to wait. I hope she is worth it.
