Re: Handle frame without the top plat
Check out ReefGeek's build: http://spearboard.com/showthread.php?t=99653
I'm pretty sure that his installation was closely patterned after Phil Herranen's handles. |

Re: Handle frame without the top plat
I was also thinking this as well, do you think it would be OK to just epoxy in the extra inset areas, or should i machine a barb type edge like on a threaded insert? Here is my rough cad drawing. Also since its so narrow, i think in steel it could only work for a rear but something wider would have to be prepared from a plastic, then mill it through for a push rod with an attached trigger that is wide and long enough to be held in the back portion of the handle. However, I still dont get how that release portion works...hmmm

Neptonics sells a forward line release. It it's for top plate handles though. It's basically the same. The rod extends past the trigger and it's what keeps the line release engaged. When you pull the trigger back, it frees up the line release and the tension on the lines pull the release forward. The spring pulls it back to its original position so that the rod can slide back underneath the line release. |
