JBL or AB Biller
I'm looking into getting a new gun and I have narrowed it down to a wooden gun. What is better, JBL or AB Biller?

Re: JBL or AB Biller
What city/area are you shooting, how deep, what is the viz like, and scuba or freediving? It will help others give you some excellent advice. Welcome to Spearboard!!

Re: JBL or AB Biller
haha thanks. I'm from Melbourne, Florida. So I do some shooting out of Sebastian Inlet and mostly in the Florida Keys. So about 10-80 feet of water and freediving and scuba, mainly scuba. Viz ranges from around here, 10-30 feet and the keys is like 15-80 feet.

Re: JBL or AB Biller
A 48 inch wooden gun has alot of punch for the deeper key's dives and can still swing quick enough for the lower viz of Sebastian. Alot of guys on both coasts shoot both JBL and Biller's. I started off with a friends 48" Biller and it was rock solid. For an economical gun, it can take alot of abuse. Also since it's a popular model, you can find them everywhere. Just my 2 cents and listen to others also!!

I started with billers, but now im jbl for sure. i just met skinner yesterday (the head guy) here in sarasota.
have a look at the woody magnum elite or the euro 110-120 those guns have a lot of power and i prefer them over the biller 42, 48 etc |

Re: JBL or AB Biller
JBL Elite hands down. Biller design is still anchored in obsolescence.
JBL has moved forward. |

Re: JBL or AB Biller
I have the 55 sawed off jbl badass gun with plenty of power Ive shot numerous 30lb fish and had almost a complete pass through! I started with a biller then switched to the jbl.. justhave to shoot both and see which you like more.

Re: JBL or AB Biller
Find someone, anyone who has shot more fish than my 13 yr old Biller.Either gun or a Rhino would be a good choice.

Been shooting JBL since 1973 when they were Voit Swim Master. My lastest is the Elite Sawed-Off Woody Mag and I love it.

Re: JBL or AB Biller
Okay, I just returned a gun because of the open muzzle. The spear kind of floated around on the muzzle and it just didn't seem tight. Are the JBL Elite's not like that? It sounds like everyone likes the elites.
