Re: any vis reports for sarasota ?
Haven't been to point of rocks for about a week now due to all the seaweed by the beach and the fact that I have had a solid 8' vis at new pass every single day this week. I am very new to the sport but have seemed to observe the vis is even better on an incoming tide at new pass. Especially today, it seemed to immediately get cloudier as soon as the tide started going out. That current can RIP through there!! Stick to the sides by the rocks and you'll be golden.
To answer your question, though, POR had about 4-5' vis when I was going there 2 and 3 weeks ago. The seaweed chunks are getting out of controll out there, especially on the swim down to the reef which is only like a half mile south of the edge of the beach. |

A rising high-high tide is always best near shore. I was out at Siesta Key today and it was clear in Big Pass. I heard offshore it was top to bottom vis..
