2012 Nationals Results

Just wanted to give a warm congratulations to all of the competitors in this year's Nationals event in Albion CA!!

Dan Silvera takes National Champion, also shooting a WR ling cod. I understand his team also took first. Great job by some stellar divers.

Can someone please post a summary of the results? ? Dennis?

I would be really interested to hear the results for the womens teams. Brandi???

Pictures please. I am drowning in Final exams right now. Would love to see pics of my friends with smiles and full stringers.

Yours,

Kelsea

Re: 2012 Nationals Results

Here is a report I just got from Brandi - May I extend my sincerest congratulations to all of the competitors who dove in those conditions. I have personally dove in those kinds of seas, but I know how quickly things can easily go wrong.. Divers who can hang in that have my deepest respect.

"We wish you were here too!! In summary, you missed 48 degree water that was probably the worst day of all with conditions. Previous to game day, vis was 25-35', calm underwater despite whatever was happening on the surface. Come yesterday, sloppy surface and good swell underwater, vis dropped to 10-12', lots of spaghetti kelp stalks that liked to wrap around everything in the UW surge, fish that were scouted moved to ???, Dave Edlund's kayak flipped, almost sunk and most if not all gear recovered (DQ'd), ocean pretty much beat up all of the competitors and there are more stories of the day. It was not my day for fish probably my worst comp take however Keely and Amanda did well. Amanda got big fish (5.2# red) and Keely and I tied for next big fish (2.8# black RF). Mixed team results: Rick Duenas/Lou Galliazo first, Keely Haussler and Dennis Haussler second, Bob Humphrey (who pretty much carried the team) and I (Brandi Easter) third....

...everyone enjoyed themselves despite the conditions. Men's first was Dan Silveira/Dave Edlund/Harold Gibson, Men's second was Paul Young/ Eric McDermott /Justin Smith and I don't recall who was third (sorry guys!). I am sure full results will be posted soon! ~ Brandi Easter."

Very proud of the womens and mixed teams!!! Miss you all.

WTF that is un godly !!!! heard a little bit of the story and oh lord looking forward to rest of it. Rumor has it came from about 40ft in a multi room cave and took several shots from multiple guns and over 25 dives to retrieve it

I would have won the Nationals, but they wouldn't me enter because I'm sponsored by AARP.
