I'm a Bank of America customer, and I haven't heard anything about this. I think its bullshit.
Where did you get that Stitch?

Give them a call and let us know what they tell you.

Re: BOA (Bank of America) cancelling all ammo and firearms purchases.
I would, but after all that time on hold, I'd get the same answer the guy in the video gave. He hadn't heard a thing about it.
I mean hell, that was very clever. They had a woman supposedly calling the bank and making an accusation, but there was nothing to confirm her accusation other than a bank employee trying to be polite and not call her a ****ing liar.

I duno. I'm not a member so I'm not going to bother calling them. The video could be BS but I don't know; I figured someone on here must have purchased a firearm or ammo using one of their cards and could chime in with some no BS info.

Re: BOA (Bank of America) cancelling all ammo and firearms purchases.
Lets be sensible. The Bank is under a lot of pressure lately as a result of its purchase of Countrywide and Merrill Lynch. Its cutting back thousands of employees. Do you really think it would want to deprive itself of the income from one of the biggest buying frenzies in history?

Re: BOA (Bank of America) cancelling all ammo and firearms purchases.
A guy on a hunting forum posted the same story ... since I can't pull up videos, I've asked to see an actual link to a statement from the company or a policy . So far to no avail.

It just undercuts the credibility of the gun lobby. They ought to stick to things that sound like they could be true, even if they aren't.

Re: BOA (Bank of America) cancelling all ammo and firearms purchases.
Assuming it came from the gun lobby , I'd agree .
Closest thing I have heard involving BoA having an issue with a firearms company involved a statement from the president of McMillan Inc, who was reputedly told by BoA they no longer wanted his corporate business due to the fact they dealt in firearms. Incidently, McMillan custom builds some of the military's and law enforcement sniper rifles. We have some M-14's in our USN/USMC armory back home that wear McMillan stocks. In fact, that's the only reason I even know the name of the company. |

Re: BOA (Bank of America) cancelling all ammo and firearms purchases.
I doubt BOa would cancel/stop payment on its customer purchase of firearms. don't you see the legall repercusions of such actions. they can't suddenlly amend contracts with customers, with out some sort of legal or public notification. I would think with there recent legal escapeds, BOA may be more tenderfooted when it comes to customer funds. side note. I did not watch thte video. just an objective view.

Re: BOA (Bank of America) cancelling all ammo and firearms purchases.
Perhaps this is an exaggeration of recent reports of BoA terminating relationships with gun dealers, McMillan being only one.
http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/201...rit-arms-foad/ A lot of stories like this seem to mutate every time they are retold through email chains. Sort of like the one about how Congresspersons' children don't have to repay student loans. That turns out to be not true (thankfully), but the story did have an origin in an actual House regulation for retroactive tuition reimbursement as a hiring and retention incentive for well-qualified staffers. Also, for the record, I bought 150 rounds of 45 colt a week and a half ago and didn't have any problems with my BoA card.

Re: BOA (Bank of America) cancelling all ammo and firearms purchases.
Soft lead, 250 grain cowboy loads for my single action revolver, which is an Uberti 1858 Remington New Model Army with a converter from Taylor & Co. The ammo is made by Ten-X right here in SoCal.
I'd love to have a revolver that could shoot +P rounds, or .454 Casull. Fun stuff... Thanks for the tip on the book!

Re: BOA (Bank of America) cancelling all ammo and firearms purchases.
They do make a 'boom' don't they ? LOL
http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/big-...=9781440228568 I bought a Ruger Redhawk .454 Casull and a Ruger Blackhawk in .45 Colt and am actually selling the .454 . For one, I hate shooting it . That .454 beats me to death , more so than a .480 Ruger does. Don't enjoy it at all. I'm a recoil pussy . Secondly, from what I've been reading in Max's book , in a strong frame ; the .45 Colt can damn near be loaded to the same pressures as a .454 . Which would still be pretty obnoxious, but would be able to harvest anything in North America. Mine's going with me after elk. |

Re: BOA (Bank of America) cancelling all ammo and firearms purchases.
Have you ever tried a 45 Schofield? My gun can also take 45 Schofield because the cylinder is machined with generous tolerances that can take the slightly wider rim of Schofields. Supposedly they developed Schofield to have less recoil so calvary wouldn't get their asses knocked off their horses by the recoil of a 45 colt full of crammed and compressed black powder. I have never noticed much of a recoil difference though.
But yeah, I hear you on recoil, especially with ergonomics designs from the 1840's :P
