Mostly LAke Degray. I prefer it over ouachita but Tomarrow I will be on ouachita. Then that evening I will arrive at lake DeGray and spear there from Friday to sunday.

Re: Season is upon us!
How is Lake Degray better? I was totally amazed with the Islands of Lake Quachita. The water is Crystal Clear. I enjoyed island hopping, since I am a Salty Girl...
I haven't speard in a lake in 10 years, but if I ever did it would be there for sure.

Re: Season is upon us!
Well I got back last sunday and just got my computer working again. Thursday was truly a crappy day because after our first dive which we took 3 bass ans some bluegill off an island I guess when I got back in the boat I set my stealth on top of the anchor line. When we arrived at a huge rock bluff and threw out the anchor I guess my gun also went out. Im still bummed about this cause they are discontinued. Now looking at a bandgun to replace it. So I used my seac sub the rest of the time. No more fish shot that day. But a buddy of my did manage to shoot a 7 1/2 lb bass. Friday I shot my first fish on scuba which was a small drum. After stringing him up I found a little bitty catfish that was caught on a hook and had got tangled up on some stobs swimming in circles. So I went grabbed him and unhooked him then let him go. Not really any more fish shot that day either.Just some dink bass. Sat it was extremely windy with occasional thunderstorm. My uncle shot about a 4lb bass that day day and I was empty handed. I think the lake was still up to much and the water still a little bit cool for this time of year on DeGray. That would explain the lack of seeing fish. I went to Ouachita sunday and didnt shoot anything. Yesterday I went to Degray though and shot 3 bass. The biggest being 3 1/2lbs. I aslo shot 5 huge bluegill. And my buddy shot 4. HE let a good sized catfish get away though. All in all a good time and some good fresh fish to eat! Ill be going back out sometime soon and keep you posted.

Re: Season is upon us!
Question, why the hell do I always bleed? After almost every dive I spit up blood. The first time it hapened was when I got certified, on our last dive. It looke like A 454 casull came up and hit me in the nose. But its not just scuba its also freediving. Ive been told its due to not equalizing but I do. There is no pain or discomfort during my dive. This is the first year this has happened to me. that I know of anyway.

Re: Season is upon us!
Try equalizing continuously on the decent. I have a ear problem that starts up after my first dive and if I don't do a continuous equalization it starts to hurt and has stopped more than one day of diving. If equalizing doesn't stop it go see a doc. You may have a ulcer or other problem that is aggravated by depth.

Re: Season is upon us!
Thats the thing thoguh, I do equalize and there is no pain or discomfort. And It doenst even have to be dives past 20ft to happen. The first time I spit up alot of blood since then its just been a little but enough to notice.

Re: Season is upon us!
Are you coughing up blood or is it in your mask? I'm just curious because my son had a problem with bleeding out of his nose and it wasn't an equalizing problem or anything related. We took him to the Doc and explained that there was no discomfort at all and the only way we knew it was happening was on accent. I always make sure he is with me and timing his ascent and at the safety stop I would notice the blood in his mask(needless to say when we got in the boat the wife freaked) what it ended up being was enlarged blood vessels inside his nose and since they were bigger than normal the Doc said the vessel walls were very thin and would leak blood not pour out. The Doc cauterized the blood vessels and we have had no problems since.
Just a thought, Steve

Re: Season is upon us!
The first time it happened was on the ascent, I didnt even notice till my buddy told me.From then on it has just been from freediving and it happens every now and then between dives. Its like it is draining down my throat from my sinus' or something.

Re: Season is upon us!
Well if that is the case, I would at least go to an ear, nose and throat doctor just to find out what the deal is. I would rather err on the side of caution. Like I was saying about the deal with my son, it was something simple and not life threating, plus it was something that the Doc could take care of in the same visit just to give me piece of mind.
Good Luck, Steve
