Thumbs up Biggs Family West Coasters hunt bugs on the East Coast

On Saturday, I had the great pleasure of guiding a lobster hunt for some members of the Biggs family from Ft. Meyers on the west coast of Florida. John Biggs, his dad Dan Biggs and brother Jonah Biggs drove over on Saturday morning and we went out the Palm Beach Inlet on their boat appropriately called the Biggs Fish Death Squad.

We did three tanks each and landed a respectable quantity of bugs (around 15 lobsters I recall). I was so happy to see my friend John get the biggest one in the photo below which he pulled out of a hole at 120 feet.

John Biggs is known as "Biggsy" on Spearboard and has been a moderator here for many years. He is just an amazing gentleman.

All hail the Biggs family!

Re: Biggs Family West Coasters hunt bugs on the East Coast

My family and I had a great time with Tony as our guide. The diving conditions are considerably different than what we are used to on the West Coast. We still managed to snag a couple of bugs and get wet in the process. It was a great time and hope to be back in the near future!

Thanks for the kind words Tony! Many thanks for finding us a place to stay overnight in a good neighborhood so we wouldn't have to worry about someone stealing our gear. We could not be any more appreciative or thankful for sharing the local knowledge with us. We hope to return the kindness back!

Wow, in the pic, that bug looks like it was mutilated by me when I caught it. The legs are actually tucked under. When we were cleaning bugs I noticed it was intact, but the pic shows differently. I pulled her out of the hole by her knuckles.

We ended up putting 27 more bugs in the boat Sunday in Fort Lauderdale, so our bug cravings will be taken care of for a little while!

Is there anyway you could e-mail me the high res pics?
