Cali Recipe
Hope someone can benefit and enjoy.
Told my buddy about this recipe today and thought it would be good to share. Its Calico as I have yet to land that delightful dinner of WSB. I used a chopper and put in bread crumbs with a little bit of Macadamia nuts. I dipped the fish in egg bater and then dipped in the bread crumbs. Took butter on a paper towel and wipped a pan (Helps not to stick) Cooked the fish on both sides just enought to brown Put the pan in the oven for 7-10 min until done (350 deg) First pics is of the calico and last pic is of my ladies Pastachio nut crusted with bread crumbs. She liked the calico better than the store bought talapia. I made a beliver out of her. Now I can go catch dinner without any back talk.

Yum that looks good! I've done macadamia nut crusted before but the sweet/saltiness of mixing them with bread crumbs is a good idea.

Re: Cali Recipe
once more that food looks awesome. Seriously. Makes me want to go diving soon.
Since we are on that subject, my thesis is due on the first, and im supposed to defend on the 23 of next month. But it might get postponed. Sorry for the Hijack.. once again awesome looking food. Edit i have been training every day now, with my brother, and my bottom time record is now 2:25 and ~400ft dynamic edit... ROFL @fis_hunter... yeah she doesnt know its off season... i should just swing by the store for some frozen tails. Last edited by sciencemike; 04-30-2008 at 07:05 PM. |

Re: Cali Recipe
That looks very nice! Halibut and WSB would both be amazing the same way. You can dice mangos down pretty small and cook them down with sugar and your choice of liquid, Wine, stock whatever and a small amount of thai chilis or chili garlic paste to make a reduced mango sauce. Add chopped cilantro at the end and drizzle that over your baked fish.
