Dude, it was near top to bottom the other day. I am convinced it wasn’t coincidental that you were notified and then it went to chocolate.

He's sucking away all the good vis energy and transferring it into the lake near him

Kind of a shame nobody uses this site much. It's a much better format to have actual discussions/debate on compared to other places.

Re: Daily Vis report thread

I log on everyday bunch of times. I just never post pics or reports because ya catch hell for it. Can't post vis reports without reporting the location the vis was good lol. So i don't bother.

Re: Daily Vis report thread

I've never seen how the vis reports are very helpful but I get to monitor it daily in my area and grew up with a NOAA cube radio as a prized possession so who knows. haha

Vis reports for a specific location aside from reporting a nasty bloom can't be much good to anyone who has to drive any distance as they get read after the fact but maybe I'm wrong. I've found that people that text me wondering when to come and have to travel are often better off with just a general "yeah water was good in the area yesterday" and then a good check of the forecast/swell/wind to make the final decision. I often can't get a second dive in the same spot I had a good morning dive on because of the vis changes due to all the variables.

What process helps everyone score vis best? Do the vis reports weigh heavy in decisions on when to go?

The good food has been showing up

Re: Daily Vis report thread

I dont know but sometimes its dookie up your way and good down our way or vise versa. Mostly vise versa I just go and dive. I suck at predicting i guess. Been good year so far though.

Re: Daily Vis report thread

Yeah, I think for most people there are those days you can completely rule out due to a miserable forecast and then there's the days you just go because it's the only time you have.

Started off a rough yr up here especially compared to last spring but it really turned around the last couple of weeks. Hopefully it continues.

Re: Daily Vis report thread

Just like you said Rod...if i see generally positive reports and foreacast remains good, i go. But if I get crap reports all around, then no, not investig in a 4 hour round trip to 'just go and dive'.

ps - and i second the preference of the forum format for discussion. The FB format is designed for only quick and shallow conversations.
