Prohibited Areas Around Miami/Key Biscayne?

Hey guys,

I am fairly new to the sport of spearfishing, but thanks to spearboard, i have come to learn a lot in a relatively short amount of time.

I wanted to check and see if anyone was familiar with any prohibited areas around miami that do not allow spearing? I typically spear around the patch reefs off of Key Biscayne. I wanted to try and get some feedback on areas (if any) that are off limits to spearos (basically from Haulover south to Elliott Key). I've seen mixed reviews on Biscayne National Park and the Fowey Rocks areas, so i wanted to get some input if possible from guys that know and spear the area. Lazy man's question, but does anyone have any type of map or something similar indicating areas that don't allow spearing? I've come to learn that more than a few people in our area are opposed to spearos, so i want to be sure to abide by the rules and not add fuel to their fire.

cannot fish inside legare anchorage (looks like a triangle) anywhere else you should be ok.

Follow the normal rules. No lobsterin in the park south of mattheson

Watch out for boaters an have the biggest dive flag that your boat or float can handle

Basically lobstering and spearing are allowed in BNP anywhere on the ocean side of Key Biscayne, Finger Channels, Soldier Key, Elliott Key, etc (excluding the Legare Anchorage triangle Robin mentioned)? Does that sound about right?

I know a few months ago i went diving with some friends...roughly 3 miles wsw of govt cut (artificial reef was at about 40ft but cant remember the name for the life of me) and their were buoys indicating a lobster sanctuary around that wreck. Any others that you guys know about?

yea that seems right to me, and I don't know what spot your talking about with the lobster buoys and stuff
