Nobody Cuban or not that comes here illegally should get a pass.If they are here illegally they evidently are criminals. What I stated is they arent the main players in the crime wave in South Florida. My niece is married to a legal Mexican immigrant. My SIL is Guatemalan here legally.I dont care what someone is as long as they come here LEGALLY,assimilate and be productive. That clear enough?

I live in Hialeah before I moved here. The food is great but will kill you if you eat it on a regular basis!Cuban food has a lot of salt, fat(lard)and sugars.A cookout starts with a 40-50#pig marinated in Mojo, sour oranges, onions, garlic, more garlic,Black beans and rice with chorizos(salami)Yucca, some salad,Cuban bread,Plantains,Flan,Cuban Coffee and lots of beer then rum or my Mango Margaritas.
Im shopping for a piglet to fatten up.

Damn that sounds delicious! Yea, everything in moderation. What I've learned is that it's not fat that is bad for you, it's all the sugar and carbs. Your body actually needs fats to deliver vitamins to keep you healthy.
I'm pro whole milk, natural butter, using pig fat for seasoning, etc..

"Unlike most other immigrants, Cubans qualify immediately for food stamps and Medicaid. If they are over 65 with little or no income, they also can collect a monthly check of up to $733 in Supplemental Security Income (SSI)."
You know Cubans will vote for liberty, private property rights and small limited government, right?

Great video! Our Gov't has really made a complete mess of all this. I feel sad for all the victims involved.
The globalists that want that gas pipeline thru Syria don't give a shit though. They have ZERO compassion for human suffering.

The older Cubans and some of the younger ones are pretty conservative.Unfortunately some of the younger generation are as dumb as the rest of our population because they havent tasted socialism like their parents did and appreciate the opportunity America offers. Most Cubans I know are proud and want to be their own man.
Dive buddy of mine left Cuba from a town called Santiago. He got two minimum wage jobs the day he came here and later VOLUNTEERED for Vietnam in the Army.Raised his family to work hard and both kids had very high IQs and were decent people.
Seems the nice ones ran from Miami when they got the chance.Theres bad in all races and Ill be the first to show crime stats and CDC stats no matter if its not PC.A lot of people believe south Florida is all Cubans and anyone speaking spanish is cuban. After living there you can pick out the Cubans from PuertRicans,Columbians,Gautemalans,Dominicans,Arge ntinians, mexicans and a dozen other latins. You learn not to Call a Cuban a Puerto Rican or a Dominican a Haitian real quick.Jamaicans will tell you flat out with no worry about feelings they arent niggers like our blacks.Try to keep a straight face in that conversation.I enjoyed the different foods down there its just the city people and city life generally suck.Anyone coming here Legally and tries to assimilate I have no problem giving a hand up.

Re: Immigration

If what you say is true, the statistics would show it. Unfortunately the statistics go the other way.
I get it, if you want to help them go ahead, repeal the 1966 Cuban immigration act and I am in.

Personally I dont think anyone should get special treatment. They changed the rules for Cubans trying to enter and they cant stay unless they step on dry land.Yet they let boatloads of haitians in with no rules and thousands of mexicans and south and central americans.I watched Coast Gaurd pepper spray guys trying to swim in rough surf to shore. That was over the top.Treat everyone the same.If I had my way anyone that immigrated here legal or not that committed a felony within 5 years would be deported after serving Hard labor in prison.
I enjoy different cultures and FOOD and dont want them to lose their culture when they LEGALLY come here. What I do want is what others did when they came here. They became Americans and worked hard to prove they belonged here.Times have changed.

This goes on more than most people know. In one form or another, it's almost a continent-wide epidemic.

Our staunch, "conservative, anti-federal" governor was working on a plan to house a bunch of Somali immigrants here, on the dole. Curiously, this is the second-in-a-row, hard-nosed, anti-fed governor we've had here, who...... wait for it... was a former federal federal prosecutor.

There are thousands on the dole in a Alaska. Many of them are Russian "refugees" who have been getting very special benefits for decades, now. When "arch-conservative" Palin ran the state, she increased the dole in the form of Mineral Trust payments, among many things. Now that oil and gas have gotten cheap again, the state is swimming in billions of dollars of red ink.

But put the "right" capital letter (R, or D) after a given name and idiots by the million will rush out to vote on meaningless distinctions.

Politicians are politicians.Like I said I dont mind tax dollars for a hand up but living off the taxpayers expense has to stop.I have heard of people getting SS and retiring in Panama or other countries and dont have a problem with that. They paid more in than they will get back. The not paying in and collecting is criminal in my thinking. We also need to have a vote on politicians pay and benefits. If the economy sucks so should their pay.

Ok, I found a great read on the Immigration issue. Yes, it's Lew...and thanks Mepps, my rereading of Murray and Mises continues.

Healthy food for the brain. I wish more people would make their reading a priority. Ron Paul first turned me onto them.
