Wow. That is one great looking boat. Do you think you have enough electronics on it? The economy is pretty tough right now. If it did not affect me so much, I'd take it off your hands. It is what I am looking for. I'd even drive from California to pick it up. But funds are just not there. Good luck selling it.

Re: 1995 Stamas 290 Tarpon

We are selling because we need money, the usual reason any normal person would sell a great boat that has made countless spearos happy with full stringers!

I own this boat with another spearo, and the economy has just beat the hell out of us recently. I'm devoting time to other ventures at the moment, and it's a shame to have this great ride just sitting around. A great deal for someone for sure, and we'll be happy to give nice long test rides with cold beer!

Believe me, we wouldn't consider selling if things were looking better as this is the best dive/fish/cruise boat we've ever had the chance to ride in, and we've been doing this stuff for decades.

Re: 1995 Stamas 290 Tarpon

It should be mentioned that this boat comes with a 2005 aluminum tandem axle trailer with torsion axles, disc brakes, and a dual spare tire carrier loaded with two spares. The boat tows easily; Stamas lists a 290 tarpon with motors at 6,000 pounds. Even with fuel, T-top and dive gear, this boat is still well within the towing GVWR of most full-size trucks.

What year model motors? How many hours? How do they look under the cowling?

Re: 1995 Stamas 290 Tarpon

The Merc's are 1995's with 3-year old lower units. They run great, and are very enthusiastic starters. They've got 60 amp belt-drive alternators, and the starboard engine has a brand new trim/tilt motor. There isn't much corrosion to be found under the cowlings.

Re: 1995 Stamas 290 Tarpon

This is a very sweet boat. It's been rigged up REAL nice.

It's a shame you guys are having to get rid of it.

Crap. I bought half a boat (22 ft with no electronics) for that price last year.

Sold.

Our Stamas has been sold. Thanks for all the kind endorsements, that's what did it. It sure was bittersweet watching it leave, I really liked that boat.
