Lobstering and Spearing in March

Our family is heading to Big Pine in mid March. We will be bringing the boat and dive gear. Being that it is toward the end of lobster season, what are our chances of finding lobsters? What else is in season? What are the water temp that time of year? Thanks.

Re: Lobstering and Spearing in March

I'm in Key West and don't dive much off Big Pine but you should still be able to find some lobster. It's the end of the season to take them but they don't just disappear. I'd still try it.

Grouper and Hogfish will be closed. You'll have to focus on snapper and jacks. Water temp in March depends on when the cold fronts stop coming through. Should be somewhere in the high 70's.
