Best lobstering gloves?

Whats the best lobstering gloves for tropical waters?? I tried a few and they either pinch thru or are so stiff you have no feel or finger dexterity for the other stuff you need to do underwater.

Salvimar dyneema work well unless you’ll be grabbing 100 bugs a day commercial then there was a pair of thin all Kevlar gloves that worked good. Forget the company

I am a fan of the Akona Kevlar gloves that Alec posted. They are stiff to start, but do break in well after a time or two. I use them all the time when I spearfish. Mend as needed until they can be mended no more. So you get your money's worth out of them. Bare also makes a similar set as the Akona. No preference for me between the two brands.

I wear full leather work gloves. The Kevlar gloves get spines and small stuff like Urchins go rite through them. They. Cost 10-15$ and last 1to 2 seasons depending on how much you go. My current ones say Husky on them. Make sure they are full leather no canvas.

Re: Best lobstering gloves?

I thought leather would be best but never tried them . Thought that maybe they would shrink after one use

Pigskin gloves work much better than cowhide or deer skin.
Something like these or similar ... https://www.amazon.com/Leather-Drive...CCQ?th=1&psc=1

Pigskin stays more pliable after repeatedly getting wet/dried.

Re: Best lobstering gloves?

Has anyone used the Akona "bug hunter" gloves for "lobstering"? We catch bugs with our hands down here in Baja and im looking for a good pair of gloves that resist punctures. The palms are made from Akonas own ArmorTex material.. They fit snug and seem perfect for spearfishing, but i dont think the palm material will do well with spiny lobster spines.. Feels way too thin to resist even light punctures, so i did not get them.... yet! But i did like em!
