Re: Daily Vis report thread

I've heard nothing but poor vis. I tried to dive this week and couldn't see the end of my gun. I just wanted to get wet. The problem is we will have gusty winds from the NE for 2 days, then it will blow from the West, then South. These tropical storms in the atlantic don't help either. Given that tonight into tomorrow the winds are going to come from the South and sustain between 12-15 knots, i'd imagine visibility will not improve. The dirty water line has been hugging the shore to about 1/4 mile out.

Re: Daily Vis report thread

Great. Thought as much. Wouldn’t mind a couple days of vis before the season ends but I guess I’ll try to make it work.

There’s like 5 respectable divers on there at most, that group sucks. No one posts anything worth a look and the holier then though shit is unbearable. Bunch of Kooks and window watchers.

Absolute filth. 0-1' average, found a few holes with tautog action and maybe 1.5' of vis, was able to connect with a tautog to make it slightly less shitty of a day.

Re: Daily Vis report thread

I had 3-5’ on sept. 29. Lots of bass starting to move in. Couple in the keeper category. Had one on the polespear but he shook it off. Only wound up with a 19” tog after 2 hours. There was one kook who I caught poaching a 12” tog.

Jealous you got vis Brandon. Past 3 days I got to dive I’ve been using guerrilla warfare ambush tactics in 0-1’

It works but it’s not even fun, it’s just a meat chore to get more fish in the freezer for the next 5-6 months

Bro look at the swell and wind projections lol. It’s going to be a while. It’s blowing 20-30 for a week straight and swell is all over 5’

Re: Daily Vis report thread

Got out in MoCo just as the nor’easter was coming in. Vis was 4-5’ and was dropping as the tide was coming in. Lots of groundswell was making my ears feel a little wonky on the bottom. Temp was 66. Still pretty warm in a 3.5mm. Wound up with a 20.5” tog
