State collects 25% transfer fee on Type A trap certificates. The game is played by grossly under reporting the sales price then paying seller a portion of sale under the table.
Back in the day I bought trap certificates for $15 each. When I sold them I got $150 each. Mine were type B having paid the 25% when I bought. When sold they the "B" type were exempt. |
