Azores trip

Spearfishing Azores, Portugal
Hi how's everyone going, I'm planning a trip to the Azores islands of the coast of Portugal this year around September but I'm just a little stumped on which island will be the best for more land based Spearfishing.
The plan is to hire a car/campervan if cheap enough and drive around finding spots to surf and spear, to would be good to hopefully get in contact with someone that has been there with a bit of knowledge about the the place.
I will definetly be up for doing a charter to the outter reefs so if anyone has any information it would be muchlly appreciated. Thank you cheers

Re: Azores trip

Is scuba spearfishing allowed there? This is in the technical spearfishing section after all.. hence, deep water with tanks.

No.. have you been to any other threads in this section? You're posting in the section about people diving 60+ meters on scuba and spearfishing. That's why I asked. Perhaps you should post in the European section.. or the general freediving area. You'll find more takers there.

Re: Azores trip

Last time I was there was 30 years ago,it was fishy then and the people were super friendly.Don't remember a lot of details where we dove due to a lot of partying after US Navy deployment in the Persian Gulf.

As mentioned, mostly tank divers at the depths covered here.
