Put'er in the water, f*** the trailer!!!!!! I always found that unplugging the wiring harness before I dropped in, by having no juice going through the wires, I didnt have issues for quite awhile when I was towing... And ditto on the liquid electircal tape too.

Solder all you connections and double shrink tube your the soldered joints. Cut the second shrink tube alittle longer than the first, after heating the shorter, slide the longer one over it and heat and shrink. I took apart all the connections on my brand new trailer and did the above, working like new after 8 yrs.
