Superb Conditions at la Jolla today
Went out to la jolla today to the beach just south of the childrens pool and the surf was about 0-1 ft. It was the best conditions i had ever seen. I got in and the visibility was 30-40 feet. I speared 6 perch in the end and saw many calicos, lobsters, and even a cabezon. But this is where things start to get intresting, i had decided to look on the south side of the beach in the sandy areas for halibut and while i was doing that i saw a cool little guitarfish, and a little sanddab, and out of nowhere in my search for halibut a fat 20 pounder swims away from me and i didnt even see him, least to say it was pretty disappointing and to add to all this a shark decides to check me out for a good 3 minutes i think it was a seven gill shark, definently not a leapoard shark so i decided to head back in. Well thats about it, i hope conditions stay good so i can actually spear at new locations. Oh and did i mention that i speared a 30 foot great white with my polespear? They taste pretty good.
