Re: JBL or AB Biller
Not for sure if this is your problem but made all the difference in the world for me.

Re: JBL or AB Biller
I've had a biller for a long time (too small so I prefer my riffe) and hear a lot of people refer to them as the AK-47 of spearguns. My good buddy took his jbl woody out he's had since around March and the plastic trigger mechanism/handle assembly just crumbled as he loaded it. He even contacted jbl and their response a couple days ago was something to the effect of, yeah it happens...too bad, get another.

Re: JBL or AB Biller
This is the story Triton was talking about, the video in the gun section. I shared the link instead of reposting the video.

Ocean Rhino or AB Biller
Quote:
When I saw the new trigger mech JBL was coming out with I thought that maybe they were going to be a better gun now. Once in production I had the chance to handle it, have you tried to load a shaft into the new trigger mech? POS in my opinion. The whole gun feels like a rough, home made, proto type, BUT it is CHEAP! ( ever hear the saying, you get what you pay for?) Billers trigger mech is bullet proof, and the shaft loads like it should! The fit, finish, and quality is superb to a JBL in every manner. Now if you had asked; Ocean Rhino or AB Biller, That would be a tougher choice. As with ANYTHING made by man, sometimes something breaks or goes wrong. Yesterday a guy posted on here with a problem with his Rhino, and in 34 minutes Kevin had seen the post and stood behind his product; http://spearboard.com/showthread.php?t=147805 AB Biller has ALWAYS stood 100% behind there product as well. JBL???? But Seriously, what was the obsolescence part? |

Re: JBL or AB Biller
Im going to chime in, loading my jbl is a bit of an issue, the shaft needs a little toggling in order to "lock in" .

Re: JBL or AB Biller
I'm not going to say JBL is crap because there are a lot of people who like them and get by with them. They are capable of killing fish. Fact is though, they are just not the same quality as a Biller. They always have finicky loading and/or stiff trigger mechanisms. Billers are much smoother, even when loaded up good with bands, and there are very few with any quirks or problems. Matter of fact I have never heard or one failing or being hard to pull. This is an honest opinion not biased because I have both and don't use either anymore. I now use Riffe Euros, but if I went back it would definatly be a Biller\Sea Hornet or an Ocean Rhino.

Re: JBL or AB Biller
I personally have not heard in discussion any thing detrimental about difficult loading issues.
I mentally applauded JBL for redesigning the gun into a very capable entry level tool, (open muzzle, shark fin tab,) and one thing that I like is the side line release. Imho, notice that many of the best gun makers utilize this feature. ~~ Cheers, K. |
